Purpose
Identify and recognize outstanding graduate student research which addresses issues relevant to the well-being of consumers and meets the research guidelines of The Journal of Consumer Affairs.
Criteria
v The research
o May focus on consumer policy, consumer economics, consumer behavior, and/or consumer education
o May be theoretical, empirical, philosophical, and/or historical in perspective
o Must have clear implications for government, households, and/or business
o Must clearly focus on consumer well-being
o Dissertation or thesis must have been completed and approved no more than two years prior to its submission to the award committee
o Prior presentation or publication of any aspect of the research shall not affect eligibility.
Award
A plaque and complimentary registration to the 2010 ACCI Annual Conference is provided.
Format
v Submit the dissertation or thesis summary to the chair by e-mail
v Summary shall be no more than five double-spaced pages in length and will include the objectives, methodology, and major finds.
v In addition, submit the date the dissertation or thesis was completed and approved, whether the dissertation/thesis is available electronically and if so, how (e-mail file, website, etc.), major professor’s name and student contact information (e-mail address, mailing address and telephone and fax numbers).
Nominations must be received no later than January 15, 2010.
