AARP's Financial Service and Older Consumer Award
Purpose The AARP's Public Policy Institute Financial Services and the Older Consumer Award is a collaborative effort between ACCI and AARP to encourage rigorous research that advances the knowledge base regarding financial products and services and the older consumer. Criteria The paper will: oPresent new data and/or analysis that focus on one or more key financial services issues, broadly defined to include areas such as older persons' use of banking, insurance, securities/investment products, credit and debt, e-commerce, and on-line technology. oOffer, based on the research findings, timely and relevant policy recommendations that are valuable to academicians, policymakers, and financial services professionals. oAdvance the knowledge base in aging research in a professional manner that promotes a constructive image of older persons. Recipient will attend the 2010 ACCI Annual Conference, present paper and submit to the proceedings.If there are multiple authors, at least one author will attend the meeting and present the paper.If recipient is unable meet this criteria, the award will be rescinded. Award Cash award funded by AARP's Public Policy Institute (PPI) and an appropriate presentation time on the meeting program.
Format Papers must be submitted to the meeting program chair. Papers selected for presentation at the annual meeting will be nominated for the AARP's PPI Award by the meeting paper reviewers. Papers that clearly discuss timely and relevant policy recommendations are more likely to receive an award nomination. Authors are encouraged to self-nomination with their submission.
